
You may have noticed on the desktop of your Adminstrative (Gateway) PC a funny looking icon titled “Data Backup.bat”. When you want to backup the files on your computer, simply double click this icon and voila! AIT has created a wonderful new backup script that, when clicked, will backup your My Documents, Internet Explorer Favorites, Desktop, and “C:\Archive” and put the files in a DataBackup folder inside your H: Drive. What’s the “C:\Archive” you ask? Great question! When you move emails from your Groupwise mailbox to the archive, those emails are stored locally on your hard drive within the folder “C:\Archive”. So…now you’ll be able to backup everything on your PC that you need for daily operation in just one simple click. Many thanks AIT! NOTE: This new backup feature will not available until AIT has updated your PC with Active Directory (which will be in February ‘09 for Pupil Services).
