Wow, time sure does fly!  It’s been a while since my last Blog post.   There are many new and exciting things I’ll be sharing on The Tech Flash in the upcoming weeks.  The first of those items is the newly re-designed LCPS AT website http://www.loudoun.k12.va.us/at.

While the site is only about 90% complete, there are many new and engaging features to share including:

  • A completely redesigned homepage with a dynamic “What’s New” visual carousel highlighting various newly added resources
  • Color coded and iconic navigation buttons for quicker access to respective content.
  • New resource libraries including Tangible Learning Aids, E-books, How-To Documents, How-To Multimedia and Task Cards 
  • New Social Science Instruction, Organization, and Behavior Supports section
  • New cover flow style visual layouts on all library and content sections 

Perhaps one of the biggest additions is the integrated LCPS AT social bookmarking site (http://www.delicious.com/lcpsat ) which is now the main interface for quickly accessing hundreds of LCPS AT videos, documents, websites and more.   We’ve even added all the multimedia content from the 2009-2010 Strategy-A-Day calendar.  While our newest and more popular resources will always be highlighted within the respective navigation buttons, all resources can be found by searching the Delicious keytags.   Not familiar with social bookmarking or Delicious?  No problem!  Just visit the LCPS AT homepage and click on the “Resources on Delicious” tab for a full explanation.  While portions of our website were coded in flash (which may not be fully accessible to all viewers), visitors requiring the use of a screen reader will find all content accessible through the LCPS AT Delicious site.  We hope you find this resource valuable in supporting your staff and students!
